MERCEDES-BENZ SL65 AMG BLACK EDITION SPOTTED

How wiiiiiiide does this SL65 AMG Black Series look? With power coming from a tweaked version of the turbocharged 6.0L V12 available in the SL600, the SL65 AMG Black Series produces around 650bhp and 1000Nm of torque, meaning it goes as well as it looks. Top speed is expected to tip over the 200mph mark, while the sprint to 60mph is likely to take less than 4 seconds.

Thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre throughout the car, around 300kg has been shaved off the regular SL65’s weight. The original folding roof has been replaced by a carbon fixed item; removing the need for motors and mechanisms. Complementing the hardcore appearance, there’s also fully adjustable suspension, ceramic brakes and a lightweight race interior.
The camouflaged SL65 was spotted lapping the Nurburgring circuit in Germany, and is expected to put in an appearance at July’s German Grand Prix. The car itself will be officially launched at the end of this year, with a price tag of around £200,000. Not bad for a car with almost identical performance to the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren.
