The owner of a local tuning company, Kahn Design, has paid a record amount for the personal license plate ‘F1′. The Bradford-based businessman shelled out just over £440k with taxes (the equivalent of about $873,000) for the plate, which will be going straight onto his company car, a McLaren Mercedes SLR.

Commenting on his new purchase, Afzal Kahn, said “I knew I just had to have it. I have spent years chasing it. I cannot believe I’ve finally got it.

“I am privileged to have acquired such a prestigious plate. It’s every man’s dream to have his perfect car with a number plate like this.”
