Lamborghini SpA, the Italian sports-car unit of Volkswagen AG, says it will sell the luxury sports cars in South Korea next year under a local dealership to take advantage of the country’s booming market for imported vehicles.

Yokohama has announced that its ADVAN WINTER (V902) tyres have been approved by AUDI AG as original equipment winter tyres for the Audi S6 and Audi S8.

The tyres are the latest additions to ADVAN WINTER, Yokohama’s high-performance flagship winter-tyre series. Tyre sizes are 265/35R19 98V XL (Extra Load) for the S6 and 265/35R20 99V XL for the S8. Both sizes are for front and rear.

Volkswagen of America, Inc., CEO Stefan Jacoby today announced new executive appointments and realignment of the Volkswagen brand executive management team, taking effect January 1, 2008. Jacoby will add the title of executive vice president of the Volkswagen brand, in combination with his duties as CEO, Volkswagen of America, Inc.
The executive vice president role at Volkswagen has been held by Adrian Hallmark since November of 2005. Hallmark will transfer to corporate parent Volkswagen AG in Wolfsburg, Germany where he will lead Volkswagen sales and marketing initiatives for the Asia/ Pacific region.

Truly one of our favourite ever air-cooled cars has come up for sale. The “Squarerra†is based on a 1967 Variant “squareback” - with power coming from a 330bhp 3.6L Porsche engine fitted with a Motronic ecu and six butterfly throttle body injection set up.

As part of its new brand image, Mercedes-Benz is for the first time introducing an “acoustic trademarkâ€: the new sound logo, which will be used in all ad broadcasts starting on November 1, 2007, is intended to enhance the further developed brand design.

Combined with a new film fade-out, the distinctive sound serves to focus attention more sharply on the star as the Mercedes-Benz trademark.

Audi’s hot TT, the RS, has been spotted testing at the Nürburgring. Expected to be production-ready by 2009, the RS model will produce around 300bhp+. External changes include larger oval exhaust tailpipes and generous air intakes around the front.

If (like us…) you’ve been dying to know how Audi’s valvelift system works, but were too afraid to ask, here’s the video for you! In the form of two-stage cam lift adjustment, it is able to vary the degree of valve opening according to load and engine speeds.
What this means in practice is that in flowing traffic, the engine produces a decidedly smooth, relaxing response to only moderate use of the accelerator pedal, with impressive pulling power in reserve that results in outstandingly low fuel consumption.

The new Daimler AG (stock exchange abbreviation DAI) today presented its interim report on the third quarter of 2007.
Daimler achieved EBIT of €1,891 million in the third quarter of this year (Q3 2006: €1,823 million). There was a positive impact from the significantly higher EBIT from the Mercedes-Benz Cars division, which profited from a favorable development of unit sales as well as from ongoing efficiency improvements.
