Irish Independent Accuses BMW Of “Arrogance” over MINI Clubman

In a recent review of the Peugeot 207 SW for the Irish Independent; John Simister, has been extremely critical of the forthcoming MINI Clubman and its novelty one sided ‘Club Door’, dismissing the new model as a possible competitor for the Peugeot Estate by saying:

“That car [the MINI Clubman] is already fatally flawed because the side that has two passenger doors is the right-hand side, even on right-hand drive cars. For a car built in the UK, and inspired by a British past, this smacks of breathtaking arrogance.”

BMW has admitted that the Club door could cost the Clubman fans and buyers due to the decision to fit it only on the driver’s side for RHD markets.
