Here’s a clip featuring the awesome Audi RS4 at Goodwood. We can only apologise for the fact that the midget with the inflated ego (Jay Kay) is in the video…

With the new Porsche Turbo, Sportec has taken a racer under its wing which is already in its standard version a quite agile machine.

The engine, exhaust and chassis components newly tuned by Sportec quicken the Porsche in a way to allow a peak speed of 338 km/h while the gained performance excites the appetite to literally devour the tarmac during spontaneous bursts of speed.

Here’s a step back in time. It’s scary to think that this commercial’s almost 20 years old!

Wolfsburg, Germany - Sales of the Volkswagen Golf are accelerating in Germany, in Europe and elsewhere across the world. Between January and June 2007, Volkswagen’s best-selling model posted sales of over 300,600.

This translates into a ten percent increase over the same period last year. As such, the Golf accounted for a significant part of the 1.8 million vehicles sold by the Volkswagen brand (a 7.4 percent increase) – a record for the first six months.

Top Gear’s motormouth Jezza Clarkson has been testing the BMW 335i SE Convertible. It only gets two stars. Oh dear…

“BMW has produced a convertible that is fairly normal. And as boring as a bucket of wallpaper paste.”

Andrew Frankel of The Sunday Times has been lucky enough to drive the beautiful Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren Roadster. He doesn’t seem too overawed by it though…

“If you want a new SLR, a Roadster it must be. Is it worth £350,000? Not even close. Do I want one? Not much. Will it at last achieve the one thing the SLR coupé never managed and prove a success in the showroom? I expect so.”

Wolfsburg, Germany - The Volkswagen Group has raised its forecast for fiscal year 2007 and will reach its target one year earlier than originally planned.
“We have significantly improved our financial position in the first six months and will sell more than six million vehicles this year for the first time. We are therefore forecasting that the Volkswagen Group will already generate a profit before tax of at least €5.1 billion in 2007,†said Hans Dieter Pötsch, Volkswagen AG’s CFO, presenting the figures for the first six months. 2007 operating profit will significantly exceed the previous year’s operating profit before special items.

We spotted this unfinished project while scouring the ‘bay this morning. It takes someone with a good imagination to call it a VW Golf, as the owner has decided to ditch the original 1.8L powerplant for a more substantial 3.5L V8 unit. The new engine is accompanied by the AWD system and pretty much everything else from a 1986 Range Rover. Home made Rallye Golf - on steroids…

Grab yourself a bargain, here!

Here’s a few shots of Audi’s forthcoming Q5. Likely engines will include a direct-injection 2.0L four cylinder unit and a 3.2L V6. There could also be a 4.2L V8 S-line version. The Q5’s Quattro all-wheel-drive system has a 40/60 percent front/rear torque bias. Changes occur thanks to a seven-speed DSG or six-speed manual. It’s expected to be here by 2008.

Looks like someone’s shrunken their Q7 after taking it through the car wash a few too many times…
