Audi has started its own internet TV channel. With immediate effect, Audi tv is on the air in English and German at www.audi.com/tv and www.audi.de/tv.

But the carmaker from Ingolstadt, Germany, goes far beyond what other brand channels have broadcast to date. “Audi tv provides viewers with exciting, original programming that offers new levels of access to the multi-faceted world of the brand with the four rings,“ commented Ralph Weyler, AUDI AG Board Member for Marketing and Sales.

Johnny Smith has shown how unoriginal Fifth Gear can be, by copying Top Gear with this feature.
You may remember the entertaining piece by Richard Hammond and James May, when they spent 24 hours in a Smart Fourfour (including a night in a scary forest!) Here we see Johnny Smith spending 12 hours in a Smart Fourtwo. Yawn.
They should have sealed it up…

Our favourite motoring publication EVO, has produced a greatly detailed review of Lamborghini’s Gallardo Superleggera.

The Superleggera is 100 kg lighter than the standard model, while its 5.0L V10 powerplant is tweaked, taking its output to 530 bhp. These figures are enough to take the Superleggera to 62 mph in 3.8 seconds and on to a top speed nudging 200 mph. The company’s E-Gear sequential transmission is standard equipment on the Superleggera.
“You notice the added ferocity with which the Gallardo’s V10 locks on to the red line. The top-end of each gear is savage, the last 1500rpm or so devoured in an explosive rush and with an exhaust note that sounds like the end of the world.”
We like the sound of that!
You can read the full review here.

McLaren F1 rookie Lewis Hamilton’s second place at todays Spanish Grand Prix, was enough to give him the overall lead in the current drivers championship.

Hamilton now leads the Championship with 30 points. With Ferrari’s Felipe Massa finishing ahead of Hamilton, Alonso coming in third and Raikkonen retiring early, Hamilton heads into the illustrious Monaco Grand Prix in a fortnight’s time with a two-point cushion over Alonso and three to Massa.
“We’re leading the championship, I couldn’t be happier,” Hamilton said. He added “I’ve been working so many years for this, me and my family, and to be in this position is a dream. I’m enjoying it, and I need to keep enjoying it.”
He praised the team and predicted “ups and downs” in the races ahead. He went on “It is all about scoring points and podiums and staying there with the consistency of the team.”
