Pirelli GTI

If you’re old (like us…) you’ll remember the original Pirelli Golf GTI from Volkswagen, back in 1983. Here’s its new brother.

Externally, the Pirelli GTI doesn’t give much away apart from the ‘Edition 30′ kit, those 7.5×18in titanium coloured five-spoke ‘P’ rims and that ‘Pirelli’ logo on the tailgate. The logo is repeated on the heated leather seats – complete with ‘tyre print’ stamp.

The 2.0L TFSI powerplant is good for 230bhp – enough to carry the Golf to 100km/h (62mph) in 6.8s (DSG 6.6s) and on to a top speed of 245 km/h (152mph.)

The Pirelli goes on sale in September and will be available in bright yellow, silver, blue graphite and black pearl.
