Looks like we’ll be cancelling our vacation to California this year. This looks like much more fun.
A trip to the Porsche 4S camp in Finland is just what we need!

Further details of the new BMW M3 Coupé, the most powerful road-going M3 the marque has ever produced, have been announced.

The latest BMW M3 Coupé is a technical tour de force. The 420hp V8-engined performance car is capable of zero to 62mph in 4.8 seconds, before going on to an electronically-limited top speed of 155mph. But while engine capacity, cylinder count and output have increased compared to the previous M3’s six-cylinder unit, engineers have managed to reduce powerplant weight and introduce elements of BMW’s EfficientDynamics programme.
The use of lightweight engine components means the 3,999cc engine weighs 15kgs less than the previous 3.2-litre six-cylinder. Brake Energy Regeneration combines with an induction system featuring eight individual throttle butterflies and double-VANOS variable valve technology for the best performance. Such technology is why the BMW M3 posts a consumption figure of 22.8mpg on the combined cycle, an eight per cent improvement over the outgoing car.
The BMW M3 Coupé goes on sale in September 2007 priced at £50,625 OTR.

This UR Quattro-based Treser Roadster has turned up on eBay. It’s not just any Treser Roadster, but the only RHD version in existence.

‘This model was the UK press car and was featured in numerous magazine articles and books including Audi Quattro Gold Portfolio 1980-1991, Dream Cars by Ian Kuah and most recently Classic & Sportscar Magazine in November 2006.’

‘Initial development for the Treser Roadster began in 1982, 39 Treser Roadsters were thought to have been built in total with this believed to be the ONLY Right Hand Drive Treser Roadster in the world (as confirmed by the Treser Club BV – www.treser-club.com where Walter Treser is the Club President.)’
In 1984, the Roadsters cost a staggering £41144.25 - including fitted options.
Ouch.

After giving its Gallardo the Superleggera (superlight) treatment, Lamborghini has chosen to put its Murcielago on a diet too.
This prototype Murcielago Superleggera was spotted lapping the Nürburgring recently, and is expected to be debuted at the Frankfurt Motor Show this September.

The weight loss is thanks to the extensive use of carbon fibre throughout the car. Lightweight doors, mirrors, central tunnel covering and engine cover all help to shave between 100 and 150 kg from the Murcielago, while its monster V12 powerplant is expected to reach around 700bhp.
Top speed should be in the region of 350km/h (217mph.)

Bad news for American fans of the forthcoming Scirocco; you’re not getting it. Apparently Volkswagen of America don’t see the point of bringing another two-door Golf-based hatch to the States.

Volkswagen executive Adrian Hallmark, explains “having six different coupes and hatchbacks would be crazy.” It probably wouldn’t be as much of a threat to the GTI segment if VW pitched the ‘rocco higher up the food chain (but below the Audi entry-level models.)

Andrew Frankel of The Sunday Times, has been one of the first journalists to review Audi’s beautiful S5.

He doesn’t seem to dislike it, but by the same rule; he doesn’t seem to be over-impressed by it either.
“If all roads were straight and smooth, you’d be looking at the new best car in the class. Unfortunately they’re not, so you aren’t.”
You can read the full review, over at the Times Online.

Whilst strolling through London, we came across this awesome beast.

It was being parked outside the Dorchester Hotel amongst the Ferraris and Roll Royces. We briefly chatted to the owner, who was very friendly.
He disclosed that the car stands him at £1.1 million. We presume that price includes the ‘V1′ plate. We also know of a Veyron in the UK, with the plate ‘B1′.
We’d be happy with either…
