9ff To Build 3L Golf
Posted 30th April, 2007 in Volkswagen | 2 Comments
Porsche tuning legends 9ff are joining forces with Auto Motor und Sport to create a super-efficient 3L Golf.

The thinking behind this project was inspired by the 3L Lupo, so-called because it was the world’s first production car to achieve average consumption of less than three litres per 100 km.

9ff boss Jan Fatthauer has split the Golf up and is looking at different ways to lose weight in an effort to hit the magic number. His only brief is that the car must retain its safety and security. A lighter engine and seat will be used for the project. Narrower tyres will also replace the car’s standard items to reduce the rolling friction of the vehicle.

Auto Motor und Sport TV will document the change of the vehicle in a ten-part series starting from May 6th.
