Audi RS4 Avant vs Chrysler 300C SRT
Posted 28th April, 2007 in Audi | 7 Comments
Autobild has published a good article comparing the Audi RS4 Avant with Chrysler’s tank – the 300C SRT8.

Both estates get their power from a V8 unit, but even though the Chrysler’s engine is much larger – 6.1L compared to the Audi’s 4.2L, the RS4 isn’t shamed in the power stakes, producing an impressive 420bhp (just 10bhp less than the 300C SRT.)
The Audi takes the glory in the acceleration tests, hitting 100km/h (62mph) in 4.8 seconds, with the Chrysler taking 5.2 seconds. The Inglostadt beauty also wins the crown on the quarter mile (Audi – 13.05 s, Chrysler – 13.32 s.)
The American reels the slinky German in on the Autobahn, managing a top speed of 265km/h (165mph) , compared to the RS4’s (restricted) 250km/h (155mph.)
You can read a translated version of the article here.

One tank versus the other tank….seeing the dragtime with a pattern from 12.9 to 13.1 for the 1/4-mile, I highly doubt the other german tank was a clear winner. 165? LOL….friend, unless you know the true speed of these beasts, then perhaps you will find it has a restrictor also…180 MPH is the top speed.
Bias? Perhaps….
Best bang tank for the buck? SRT8 hands down.

lol. The Audi is supremely better. That American ‘piece of ***p’ needs an extra TWO LITERS!!!!! to make just 10 bhp more? That’s weak.
The Audi’s a driving machine. The Chrysler handles about as well as a hearse. Which is exactly what it looks like.
And I wouldn’t be seen dead in it! LMAO!!!!!!!!!
The Chrysler does give more ‘bang for its buck’ but that’s about all. It’s as refined as a tractor.
There’s more to cars than bang per $$$$$
Get educated.

Oh no you did not try to compare that brick to the 300SRT, you euro car lovers know nothing about comfort, iminites, quiet ride, and after what just rolled off your lips you know nothing about powerplants. that 6.1 is tuned for 440HP but can easily be tuned to 800HP + at which point your audio will certainly be lost in the rearview. Try tuning the audi to 800 + HP and you will need a 3rd job. As far as handling and acceleration is concerned, ITS A BIG CAR with room for 5 comfortably, try getting 5 comfortably in the audio, I dont think so, maybe 1 adult and 4, 9year olds who will still be fighting for room. And if you thought the 300 was only good for 5.2 0-60 try turing the play nice button to off, well then we move to 4.5 not to mention its still walking away from you at top end. And with the extra $$$ you saved buying the nice commfy tractor as you put it the 300 can now upgrade the chip and easily hit 190MPH. I got an idea for you, keep you comments to yourself and your pink slip close by cause I will be in germany with my SRT shortly and we can race from Nuenberg to Munich then I will take that audio off your hands and turn it into Hotel and Gas money to tour Europe.

It says “4.8 to 100kmh” not 4.2? Also it’s *limited* to 155mph. You obviously have’t a clue. It’s a sedan (that’s way better looking than the Chrysler) with an Audi R8 engine. You can’t argue with that. The Chrysler is such a sad, sloppy and ugly car, that’s why the company is on its knees.
I’m American, but I’ve got my eyes open to the facts.
I pity you James.

The 300 SRT-8 is the clear winner,we have alot of these at our drag strip stock they run 12.80-13.04 depending on driver, traction ect.The handle excellent, plus a smoother ride and more interior room,I am 6′4 an I like more room. The bigger engine is better as well because it will last longer in the long run, small motors with big h.p are stressed and weaker. The 300 is a looker drive it anywhere are people look, and bashers are just jealous, plain and simple..The Audi is a nice car as well, but the 300 has it beat and it is truly a better, quicker, faster, car hands down..

Tony Jones,
The reason Chrysler is on its knee’s is because of a German automaker that rapped Chrysler in 1998,Chrysler was the most profitable car company proir to the so-called merger in 1998.Mercedes used Chryslers billions in reserves to prop up Mercedes brand at the time Mercedes was a money losing company..To say Chrysler 300 is a sloppy car you are truly ignorant to the facts, and I feel sorry for people like you who are so ignorant and will never drive/own a truly fine car,my 300SRT will run all over a Audi any day..PERIOD..
