eBay Find Of The Day: Pope’s Ex-Mobile

Golden Palace Casino is re-auctioning Pope Benedict XVI’s old VW Golf.

A few months before being elected head of the Catholic Church, Cardinal Josef Ratzinger decided to sell his six-year-old VW Golf. The vehicle had been imported from Germany to Rome in 1999.

Benjamin Halbe, 21, bought the vehicle without knowing its’ history. It was only when Halbe obtained the car’s registration documents confirming Josef Ratzinger as the former owner that he realized the truly blessed nature of his purchase.

The car has not been driven since it was bought by Golden Palace Casino in 2005.
