Australia To Get Cayenne Hybrid

Stuttgart car maker Porsche has announced plans for a hybrid version of its hideous-looking SUV, the Cayenne.

Porsche revealed the news at the Melbourne motor show and stated that it was committed to a hybrid-powered vehicle based around a petrol-electric drivetrain. The powerplant is still in development but Porsche’s Michael Winkler said it would be in showrooms by 2009, with Australia being confirmed to receive the vehicle.
