M6 Convertible Vs SL65 AMG

Those lucky guys at InsideLine have managed to get their hands on two extraordinary topless models – BMW’s M6 Convertible and the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG.

The M6 uses BMW’s 5.0L V10 powerplant developing 507hp. This powers the car from 0-62mph in 4.8 seconds before going on to an electronically limited top speed of 155mph.

Amazingly, compared to the BMW powerplant, the SL65’s V12 makes almost twice the torque at one-third the engine speed. Even at 1,000 rpm, the biturbo V12 churns out 420 lb-ft of torque, which is more than the M6’s maximum of 383 lb-ft at 6,100 rpm. Power is an outrageous 604 bhp, enabling the heavyweight SL to hit 60 mph in just 4.2 seconds.
