VW To Take Stake In Malaysia Proton’s Manufacturing Unit

Volkswagen AG has signed an agreement to buy a 51 percent stake in the manufacturing arm of Malaysia’s Proton Holdings Bhd.

When contacted, Proton’s spokesperson said: “This is a shareholders matter. Let’s wait for the announcement by the government which is expected before the end of the first quarter.”

An announcement on the matter is expected to be made on Feb 8.
