This 1955 300sl Gullwing is the perfect candidate for a complete restoration. It’s had just one owner since 1969 and been off the road, sat in a barn, for the last 30 years. Beautiful.

If you want it, you can contact Aston Martin of New England.

This is the perfect candidate for NOT being restored. There are too many Pebble- Beach Gullwings that all tell the same story: Someone sank a fortune in it to make look like new. How boring.
This one tells a story. So bring it back to live with a mild restoration if possible or just leve it like it is. It´s beautiful.

You say it shouldn’t be restored, then contradict yourself, and say it should be?

It tells a story ‘I was sat in a barn for 30 years. The end’

    Interesting story.

After spending over half of its life sat in a sh*tty barn, it deserves to shine.

If you want it to run a ‘rat look’, you buy it.

Maybe we should treat it like Chrysler?
Nah We’re better sports than THAT

It is only original once; after that it can, and will be, restored over, and over, and over and… just get it running, then leave it alone.

I worked on this car when it arrived at the shop in the state shown in the photos,,,,,
It’s sold. But for all of you thinking it should have been kept in ‘barn find’ condition, trust me; the mildew smell would drive you out of the state…
let alone the ’sludge’ left in the fuel tank….
