Audi has enjoyed a triple success in the “auto motor und sport†readers’ poll. Readers of the popular car magazine voted the A3, A6 and Audi Q7 into first place in their respective classes, crowning them with “Best Cars†titles for 2007.

This was the first time that the Audi Q7 has taken part in the poll, and despite fierce competition it was awarded the most votes. The Audi brand’s first SUV stands out thanks to its outstanding on-road performance, good off-road characteristics, expressive design and the quality characteristic of Audi.

The winner in the executive class, the Audi A6, has been the market leader in its segment in Germany for two years now. The elegant and sporty A6 is available as both a sedan and an Avant. In 2006, Audi added the sporty S6 to this successful model line.

The Audi A3 was voted top of the compact class for the third time. Audi demonstrates with the A3 how it is possible to perfectly unite premium standards with compact dimensions in a smaller vehicle class.

While we were having a browse through eBay, we came across this 2004 model Maybach 57.

With an original price of $305,500.00, it’ll be interesting to see how much this goes for. We’re pretty certain it’ll make more than the current $10,000 bid…
If you’re feeling generous and want to treat us, please do!

This is the latest product of a long and fruitful partnership between Mercedes-Benz Accessories GmbH and the Swiss watchmaker TAG Heuer, the new “TAG Heuer SLR for Mercedes-Benz†automatic chronograph.

The third chronograph to emerge from this collaboration will be available from this summer in a limited edition of 3,500 pieces. Special hallmarks of this high-tech timepiece include the arrangement of the chronograph’s buttons beside the dial, echoing the layout of the shift buttons on the automatic transmission selector lever in the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren super sports car.

Volkswagen is supporting the production of mass biofuel to ensure an environmentally-friendly future for motoring.

According to Volkswagen’s Dr Wolfgang Steiger, “The goal is not just to produce a biofuel, it is to reduce CO2 production.”
Growing shortages of fossil fuels and an environment that needs protecting more than ever before, all set new challenges for automobile producers of a magnitude unheard of in the past.
Second-generation biofuel, (or ‘SunFuel’ as VW calls it), produces a closed carbon dioxide cycle, meaning it absorbs as much CO2 as it creates.

BMW is helping the environment, by using a new process that treats all its waste water and sends it back into the production system.
The system is in operation at its Steyr plant in Austria and saves around 7.9 million gallons of water.
The company introduced its water treatment system using nanofiltration technology in 2003. The system was so successful that BMW decided to introduce a completely enclosed water cycle for production.

Thanks to the admin guys at M3-Post for this photo of BMW’s new M3 mirrors. We’re not too sure if we like them or not. Perhaps they’ll grow on us.

So, we can expect all the ten year old ‘ricers’ to be wearing ‘M3- style’ mirrors in this shape, pretty soon…

A UK Porsche driver has been clocked at 172 mph (277 km/h) – 102 mph over the UK limit. The police officer told him “Any faster and you’d have taken off!”

33 year old car leasing worker Tim Brady, is said to have been showing off to his friends when he was caught driving the 997 Turbo (owned by his employers.) A spokesman for the company said: “He did not have permission to drive the Porsche. He came in this morning and resigned.”
The previous speeding ‘record’ was held by Jason McAllister caught doing 156mph in Scotland. He received a five month jail sentence for his efforts.

As with the M6, Lumma Tuning have felt the need to turn BMW’s M5 into something that belongs in ‘The Fast and The Furious’. We don’t know why either…

We’ll ignore the kit and lairy paint (as it’s hurting our eyes.) The car sits 40mm lower than standard on 21 inch rims. Power from the 5L V10 is pumped up from 507 to 560 bhp, enabling the four-door supercar to hit a 327 kn/h (203 mph) top speed.
If Krusty The Clown was real, his car would look like this.

The Naples Winter Wine Festival, the world’s most successful charity wine event, is poised to out-do itself in 2007. Real estate developer Raymond Lutgert has paid $2,000,000 for the privilege of owning the first Phantom Convertible in America.

This very special car will carry tread plates documenting its status as the very first of the new convertibles to be delivered in America.
While the exact delivery date will not be until the late summer of 2007, the winning bidder will have weeks before any of the other first shipment of cars is released.
