BMW 135ti Spotted

Here’s a few more pictures of BMW’s baby missile - the 135ti. Using the same 306 bhp 3L twin turbo unit as the 335i, it look like it’s going to be alot of fun. We can only imagine how fast it’ll be, once the tuners get their hands on it.

i like it a lot. the rear doors look fake, doubt they’ll make it stateside.

Not bad. It’ll be some competition for the GTI?

  3. 3. 11th December, 2006 at 17:52 by Warren M

I agree with you. The article with the pictures, called it a competitor for the R32. If you remember the shootout between the 130 and R32 on Top Gear, there was very little in it, so the 135ti would crush the R32. Being a VW fan, I’d love to see an R36 Golf go into production.

The rear doors are fake its suppose to throw people off

My aunt has the 120i (150 HP), and is a really fine car, so long as you are in the front seats. The back seats of that car can’t suck anymore, it is really cramped, and because of the big doors (little glass) and tall front seats, you feel trapped in the baby bimmer.

Yea, another great performing, ugly-as-hell bmw. Europe can have it.

By the way, having driven both the 1 series and the Golf/Rabbit, I must say the Golf is a better car to live with every day…

Make it a two door hatch and maybe Americans would buy it, but that’s a big maybe.

  9. 9. 12th December, 2006 at 21:06 by Warren M

Ry: It is a two door. The rear handles/shutlines are fake.

Ah, I thought the above comment was a joke.

So what, is that just while they’re designing it, or is the real version going to have fake handles on the back as well?

If indeed they are fake, then the car looks entirely too fucking long.

  11. 11. 12th December, 2006 at 22:45 by Warren M

I agree with you. They’re just camouflaging it, to make it look like a four door model. I’m sure it’ll be a capable car, but I’m not keen on its looks.

    man this is the shiiit

bimmer all the way everything is crap

i remember reading this car would do about 5 sec 0-62

    quality = bimmer

BMW has enjoyed tremendous success with 1er in Europe. It’s a fashionable drivers car, nothing more nothing less. Want practicality? Get a VDub GTI. Which is a terrific car though.

I love 1er for its distinct “devil may care” looks. We’ll see how the coupe/sedan is going to look when it comes to US. Only thing is, with US dollar falling like a rock against Euro I wonder how it’ll affect BMW’s strategy.

Beign an R32 owner, id love to see this come stateside. I like it, I am not quite sure if i would give up my R32 for it, but i can’t say for sure.

I think this thing will be a rocket!!!

the 335i got 4.8 0-60, so imagine this car!

the design comments are subjective though, i think it looks nice but not like the 3-series…

    let’s wait for the R36 and RS3 ;)

An R36 Golf would be a nice weapon to own.

I’ve read your comments about this car being not well designed nor ‘agressive’ looking. In Europe (at least in West), most people don’t want to show they have an expensive car, some people want to drive a 306hp car that looks exactly like a 116i or a 118 Diesel. The Audi S3, with 265hp and 350Nm looks almost like a A3 1.6L… Nobody will bother you in the US is you drive a V8 Mustang or a Corvette, but in Europe you may get in trouble… So this 135ti will definitly get its market segment…

All of you Americans who do not like and enjoy BMW are idiots! Or maybe I should say; jealous idiots! Just because you in USA are not able to come up with ideas BMW-like! Drive in your ugly pickup’s!

Nice try Karina but I think this hole is all fished out.

I like look of the five door 1er. I hope they bring it to the US.
Even the 2.5 I6 would be plenty of power for me.
I just want a nice, practical commuter.
I love bmw’s I6, rwd, style and quality. There is nothing out there to compare, except maybe the A3 Quattro, which pushing 34k is out of my range. I really wish they would hurry up with the X1.

the 130 is sweeet. handles superbly, fast and is very responsive. the 135 will be amazing. although the looks have been criticized heavily, it isn’t that bad i think its unique for those who want a bigger backseat/family car get a 3 series
