DaimlerChrysler Working On ‘Car To Car’ Network

The guys at DaimlerChrysler’s test centre in Stuttgart, are working on a ‘car to car’ network system, which goes by the name “Wireless Local Danger Warning”.

They currently have five cars fitted with the equipment, which allows them to spontaneously exchange relevant data for road safety.
For example, if a vehicle encounters a critical situation such as congestion, fog, ice or an accident, it can pass the information on to other road users in the immediate vicinity of the danger spot.
This would give approaching traffic ample warning, allowing them time to respond to the situation.
