Bernd Pischetsrieder may have only just cleared his desk, but VW’s newly appointed chief – Martin Winterkorn, is already working on a restructuring masterplan.
Winterkorn has stated that he wants to see more interaction between brands within VAG. The group will officially split into two brackets. Audi, Bugatti, Bentley and Lamborghini, will form the lower volume, high-end, high performance, division. Thus distancing themselves from the remaining brands.
Meaning SEAT, Skoda and Volkswagen will form the high volume, more mainstream group of cars.
